Saturday basketball schedule includes MHHS hosting Alma for Senior Day

High school basketball makes up much of the local Saturday schedule and includes Mountain Home in makeup action. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will wrap up the season by hosting Alma for Senior Day.

Mountain Home’s girls are 6-20 on the season and 3-10 in the 5A-Wesat after beating Greenbrier on Tuesday. Alma was routed by Greenwood to fall to 10-15 and 3-10. The Lady Bombers were edged out by the Lady Airedales 39-37 on Jan. 28.

The Mountain Home boys are 3-22 overall and 1-12 in the league after falling at Greenbrier this week. Alma is 4-15 and 2-11 after getting beat up by Greenwood. The Bombers lost to the Airedales 61-46 nearly a month ago.

The girls’ game tips off at 2 at Bomber Gymnasium followed by the boys’ contest. Both games will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and on the Bomber Sports Network channel on YouTube.

Three area girls’ teams will try a fourth time to play their openers in the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at Hillcrest Elementary School in Lynn. Norfork and Marked Tree tip off at 4, and Viola meets Mammoth Spring at 7.

Flippin’s girls will have the opening game of the Class 2A West Regional Tournament at Eureka Springs. The Lady Bobcats face Lavaca at 4.

Three area teams begin action in the Class 1A Region 1 Tournament at County Line High School in Branch. Omaha takes on the host Indians in a doubleheader starting with the girls at 4, and the Western Grove boys play Mulberry at 8:30.

Three area teams will compete on the opening day of the Class 2A Central Regional Tournament at White County Central High School in Branch. Melbourne’s girls will be paired with Conway Christian at 4. On the boys’ side, Melbourne meets Bigelow at 5:30, and Salem faces Maumelle Charter at 8:30.

Two area schools will send both of their teams to Booneville for the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament. On the girls’ bracket, Bergman takes on Cedarville at 1, and Valley Springs plays Charleston at 4. In the boys’ games, Bergman will be matched up with Waldron at 5:30, and Valley Springs goes up against Paris at 8:30.

Both of Harrison’s teams will be in Farmington for the Class 4A North Regional Tournament. The Lady Goblins meet Dardanelle at 4, and the Harrison boys face Morrilton at 8:30.

A state tournament bid in Missouri is on the line for Lutie’s boys in Chadwick. The Indians take on the host and top-seeded Cardinals in the championship game if the Class 1, District 4 Tournament. Tip-off is set for 2:30.
