
The Mountain Home High School baseball team competed in the First Community Bank Pioneer Large School Classic Friday at Batesville and came away with a win and a tie.
Due to an eight-inning limit, the Bombers ended their first game knotted up with Pulaski Academy at 6-6. Reece Ducker pitched 4 2/3 innings, struck out three batters and gave up two hits, a walk and an earned run. He also went 2-for-5 at the plate with a double and a run. Will Beckham was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Reed Ellison went 2-for-3 with a run.
Mountain Home later defeated Nettleton 12-4. Braxton Carson took the win with three innings, a strikeout, four hits, a walk and two runs. Ellison led the Bomber offense by going 2-for-3 with a run and three RBIs, Cody Lance was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Daniel Jones drove in three runs, and Jacob Czanstkowski added two RBIs.
