A driver, stopped at a stop sign in Gainesville, Mo. last Friday filed a report with the Ozark County Sheriff’s office after a woman pointed a rifle at him.
26-year-old Alyssa Brook Collins of Gainesville was taken into custody without incident.
After the report was filed, in an attempt to locate Collins, deputies went to a residence along County Road 800. As the deputy walked to the door, a vehicle pulled into the driveway. Deputies quickly realized Collins was the driver.
Collins was advised of her Miranda rights and the deputy asked if he could search the vehicle in an attempt to locate the firearm and Collins refused.
The vehicle was then towed to the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office where deputies received permission from the owner to be searched.
A rifle with a scope mounted to it was located in the vehicle with one live round in the magazine and one live round in the chamber. The rifle matched the description given by the victim.
During the booking process, two .22 caliber bullets were located in the pocket of the hoodie Collins was wearing.
Collins has been charged with first degree domestic assault, a class B felony, felony armed criminal action and the unlawful use of a weapon, a class E felony.
She is being held in the Ozark County Jail with no bond.
