According to a release from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, a body was found submerged in a vehicle at the Cold Springs access in Mammoth Spring.
At approximately 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department received a report about a submerged vehicle.
The Mammoth Spring Fire Department took a rescue boat to the scene and marked the location of the vehicle. A diver was then called to check the submerged vehicle and confirmed a body was inside.
The body has been submitted to the State Medical Examiner’s office for positive identification and cause of death. The vehicle has been taken to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
Due to some anomalies, the case is being treated as a suspicious death, but foul play is not suspected at this time.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Arkansas State Police to help with further investigation.
