A 28-year-old Midway man, who screamed obscenities and fought with deputies at the court complex in both May and July last year has been denied parole.
Tyler Cole Hutton entered a guilty plea to charges in his three active criminal cases in September last year and was sentenced to six years in prison.
He is serving his sentence at the Grimes Unit of the state prison system in Newport.
MANY CHARGES
The charges included 2nd degree battery on a police officer, terroristic threatening, impairing the operation of a vital public facility, disorderly conduct, domestic battering and 3rd degree assault on a family or household member.
As opposed to his demeanor during the two court appearances where he cursed and fought with deputies, Hutton stood with his attorney, Sharon Keil with the Public Defender’s office, and was calm and composed during the plea taking process.
ATTACKED WOMAN
The earliest of the three cases was filed in January last year. Hutton was accused of being involved in attacking a woman with whom he had had a relationship.
The couple was reported to have a child together. Hutton was also charged with domestic battery in 2018 stemming from a fight with the same woman.
FIGHTS WITH DEPUTIES
In May and July last year, Hutton fought with deputies who had brought him to the court complex for scheduled appearances.
In both incidents, Hutton was reported to have been calm until he just snapped, according to a deputy with the Baxter County Sheriffs office.
Hutton began to fight and spew obscenities until he was subdued and returned to jail on both occasions.
In the May incident, according to court records, Hutton first spoke to his attorney in the holding area behind the courtroom.
After the attorney walked away, Hutton was alleged to have begun yelling obscenities and causing a general disturbance, according to an incident report.
At one point in his tirade, Hutton yelled that he “does not need to be judged.”
In late July, Hutton was again brought to the court complex for an appearance and began screaming at the Baxter County sheriff’s deputy who serves as the transport officer.
Hutton was alleged to have demanded that the charges brought against him in the first incident at the court complex be dropped.
He became increasingly irate when his demands were not met. Hutton challenged the deputy to a fight.
The deputy/transport officer attempted to remove Hutton from the court building and get him back in the prisoner van, but Hutton, although shackled, continued to fight and other officers joined in subduing him.
