One of the individual titles from the Arkansas State Powerlifting Tournament went to a Mountain Home student athlete on Saturday. Michael Davis won the 133-to-148-pound division at Wolf Stadium on the campus of Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Davis had a power clean and a bench press of 235 pounds each for a total of 470 pounds. He beat out Tristan Ray of Benton by 10 pounds.
Benton had the best overall team score to claim the Classes 7A/6A championship.
