The Arkansas Department of Health has issued a boil water order for part of a water system in Newton County.
The boil water order is for customers of the Parthenon Water Association served by the Gum Springs Road booster tank.
The boil order was issued over the weekend due to a line break and will remain in effect until further notice.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
