
The opening day of the Mickey Huskey Twin Lakes Classic American Legion baseball tournament in Mountain Home Thursday saw the host Lockeroom team pick up a win and the Mountain Home Alley-White junior team nearly upset the defending champions.
Alley-White fell to Russellville 5-4 in the first game of the day, leaving the bases loaded in their final at bat.
The Lockeroom put up a seven spot in the fifth inning en route to a 12-4 win over North Central Arkansas. Reed Ellison led the Mountain Home offense with three hits and three RBI and Logen Walker stole five bases. Carter Graves was the winning pitcher.
In other games, Southern Elevation from Davis, Oklahoma downed Eureka, Missouri 11-3, Paragould defeated Bartlesville, Oklahoma 4-1 and Scott City, Missouri Tropics knocked off Pontotoc, Mississippi 9-0.
