A man residing in a community corrections center after pleading guilty to several charges last year in Baxter County is accused of burglarizing boats in Bull Shoals just over a year ago. Thirty-six-year-old William Joshua Lewis is facing a bond of $20,000.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a Bull Shoals officer was notified by City Hall on June 23, 2021, of a theft at Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock. He met with the dock owner, who stated his boat cover was slightly removed, and he realized the stereo system was missing with the wire connections cut. The system is reportedly valued at $6,726.

The owner also stated one of his customers had two boats placed in the storage area. The second victim stated an air compressor was missing from one boat, and items were left scattered on the other boat.

The officer later spoke to a Baxter County investigator, who stated the air compressor was in Lewis’ vehicle. Lewis was in the Baxter County Detention Center at the time. The investigator also found three amplifiers with a cooler belonging to the dock owner.

Lewis is facing three felony counts of breaking or entering, a felony count of theft greater than $5,000 but less than $25,000 and one misdemeanor count each of theft of property, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
