Monday is the deadline to register for MH school special election

The deadline to register to vote in the Mountain Home special school election is Monday.

Early voting polls will open Tuesday, August 2 through Monday August 8 from 8 to 4:30.

Early voting locations include the Baxter County Courthouse located at 1 East 7th Street and the Election Commission Headquarters located at 213 East 5th Street.

Special school election day will take place August 9 from 7:30 to 7:30 at the following locations:

Baxter County Courthouse, 1 East 7th Street;

Lakeview City Hall, 14 Skyles Lane;

Eastside Baptist Church, 718 East 9th Street;

Henderson Fire Station, 12487 Hwy 62 East;

Midway Safety Training Center, 170 Dillard Drive;

Northeast Lakeside Fire Station, 5482 Hwy 62 East; and

Election Commission Headquarters, 213 E. 5th Street.

A list of appointed election officials, deputy clerks or additional deputies hired to conduct the early voting can be located on the door of the Baxter County and Circuit Clerk’s office beginning July 15.

Any person who makes an objection to the service of a designated poll worker must make it known to the County Board of Election Commissioners within 7 calendar days. The deadline for objections must be received before the date of the election.

Votes will be tabulated at the Baxter County Courthouse after the closing of the polls on Election Day. Hearings will be held for rejected provisional ballots on the following Monday, August 15 from 10 to noon.
