A one-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in northern Baxter County resulted in suspected minor injuries to two of the four occupants. Twenty-year-old Laura Wheat of Midway and 29-year-old Sara Fender were both transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center.
According to an accident report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Wheat was the driver of a vehicle on County Road 36, and Fender, 22-year-old Joshua Martin and a 17-year-old male juvenile were her passengers. Wheat was reportedly attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve when she lost control, and the vehicle came into contact with a tree on the right side of the roadway.
Martin and the teen were not injured in the 2:20 a.m. accident. Damage to Wheat’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
