The City of West Plains is experiencing a widespread power outage and is asking residents to avoid Old Airport Road.
According to a Facebook post from the city, the widespread power outage is the result of a downed power line at the transfer station. The West Plains Fire Department is fighting a grass and brush fire caused by the downed line.
Electric crews are unable to restore power until the fire is extinguished.
