A Marion County man has been arrested for the third time this year, this time after he drove a car towards a man walking his dog, forcing them to jump in a ditch to avoid being hit. Three more charges have been filed against 40-year-old Joshua Monistere of Bull Shoals in connection with the most current incident.
According to the probable cause statement in the case from the Bull Shoals Police Department, the victim told police he was walking his dog on Woodland Avenue shortly before 7:30 the morning of June 28, when he heard a car motor revving and tires squealing. As the car got closer, the victim said Monistere allegedly swerved the vehicle in an aggressive manner towards him. The man grabbed his dog and jumped into the ditch to avoid being hit. The victim was able to get the license plate number from the car.
Bull Shoals police later found the car parked at Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock. The woman whom the car is registered to was sitting in the car. She confirmed to officers Monistere had been driving and jerked the wheel towards the man and the dog.
Monistere is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of careless or prohibited driving and driving while his license is canceled, revoked or suspended. He is free after posting $15,000 bond.
Monistere has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2012. This year, he has been arrested on charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, criminal mischief and assault on a family member. In December last year, he was arrested after threatening his neighbor with an axe.
