
Registered voters residing in the Mountain Home School District will be able to go to the polls to decide on a proposed millage increase. Early voting begins Tuesday and continues through Monday, and Election Day is next Tuesday, Aug. 9.
The district is seeking an increase of 2 1/4 mills. The funds will go toward a construction and renovation project at Mountain Home High School Career Academies.
Early voting hours are 8 to 4:30 each weekday. School district residents can cast an early ballot at the Baxter County Courthouse or the Baxter County Election Commission headquarters at 213 East Fifth Street in Mountain Home.
For next Tuesday’s election, the hours will be from 7:30 in the morning through 7:30 in the evening. Baxter County and Circuit Clerk Canda Reese says only vote centers within the Mountain Home School District will be open next week.
