A Flippin man allegedly driving in a reckless manner in Baxter County resulted in him driving off the road and striking a tree. Thirty-five-year-old Kyle Wood was transported Saturday afternoon to Baxter Regional Medical Center with what were described as suspected minor injuries.

According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Wood was operating a pickup truck at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner on County Road 1073 east of Buford. He reportedly lost control in a corner and applied the brakes, and the truck skidded, left and re-entered the roadway, crossed both lanes and left the roadway on the left side. The truck then struck a ditch and a tree before it came to a stop. Wood reportedly exited the vehicle and had a family member transport him to the hospital.

Wood was cited for careless or prohibited driving, failure to register a vehicle, no liability insurance, driving too fast for conditions, unsafe vehicle and fictitious tags. Damage was estimated to the truck at $8,000 following the 3:51 p.m. accident.
