After graduating from Farmington High School, Sutton enrolled at the University of Arkansas in 2015 and became a student assistant under head coach Dave Van Horn. During his time in Fayetteville, the Razorbacks went to the College World Series two consecutive years, and they finished as the national runners-up in 2018. After graduating and spending some time working in retail business, he learned more about the coaching profession under Lance Spigner at the University of Arkansas-Rich Mountain in Mena. Most recently, he has coached baseball and football at West Fork.

Adcock says Sutton will be an asset to the program with his coaching background.
