An Ozark County man is accused of assaulting a woman and threatening to kill her. After a short standoff, Jeffrey Pine of Pontiac was arrested on charges of second-degree domestic assault and first-degree stalking.
According to the probable cause statement, an Ozark County deputy was assigned to a domestic assault call at a residence on Missouri Route W. He made contact with a female, who reportedly had a black left eye, visible marks and bruises on both arms and abrasions on her neck.
The female alleged Pine pushed her on the ground and slapped and choked her two days earlier. That day, he reportedly tackled her to the ground in the gravel driveway, slapped her and ordered her to go back inside the residence after she tried to run away from him.
The victim reportedly texted a friend, who contacted sheriff’s dispatch. She claims Pine has told her on several occasions if she reported the abuse, he would kill her.
Pine was taken into custody after the standoff. After being read his rights, he reportedly said he didn’t want to incriminate himself, and there was more to the incident than him striking the victim.
At last update, Pine was being held in the Ozark County Jail without bond.
