A Salem man is accused of taking a rental vehicle from a Mountain Home business and keeping it when he was directed to drive it to Alabama. Forty-one-year-old Randall Pool is charged with a felony count of theft of property (motor vehicle).
According to the probable cause affidavit from the Mountain Home Police Department, Pool picked up the pickup truck Aug. 9 from the car rental business. The vehicle was reportedly leased by a transport business in Birmingham, Alabama, for Pool to drive it for a job interview and return it to the car rental business when he came back home. Pool allegedly did not show up for the interview and did not return the vehicle.
Pool was located Aug. 13 by the Salem Police Department. He was reportedly passed out in the pickup truck.
Pool was released from the Baxter County Detention Center Aug. 16 on a bond of $25,000.
