A man is accused of hitting a female he was not allowed to have contact with and throwing her puppy out of the window of a pickup truck in Harrison. Thirty-nine-year-old Beau Jenkins is facing a felony count of second-degree battery and misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and violation of a no-contact order.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a Harrison officer was notified in the early morning of Aug. 4 of an alleged domestic incident and a female in the emergency room at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. Nursing staff reportedly told the officer her arm had a bone broken in at least two places above the elbow.

The victim claims Jenkins contacted her through a “spoof” phone number. She reportedly agreed to meet with Jenkins the night before, and they drove around and watched the sunset in Jenkins’ truck. The female claimed she was attempting to end their relationship, and while they were on Terrapin Creek Road, he allegedly placed a firearm to his temple. When she said she didn’t believe Jenkins would shoot himself, he reportedly removed the gun and fired a shot out of the window.

The victim says they went back to her residence, and after more arguments, they left. Later, they were on Arkansas Highway 392 between Goblin Drive and Arkansas Highway 397 when Jenkins allegedly grabbed and tugged on her puppy, causing it to cry. He was able to take the dog and toss it out of the vehicle. Jenkins and the female then reportedly started throwing various items at each other, and he threw the firearm out of the window.

The two went back to the victim’s residence, grabbed a flashlight and left, retracing their steps. The victim claims she would not get out the truck because she was afraid Jenkins would leave her stranded on the road. He reportedly stopped the truck on Burls Way, walked around to the passenger side and attempted to remove her from the vehicle. The female says she was holding on to the headrest when she allegedly felt a punch and pain to her left arm.

The victim asked to be transported to the hospital for treatment, and during the drive, Jenkins repeatedly asked, “What are you going to tell them?” When they arrived and the victim sought help from hospital staff, Jenkins allegedly fled in his truck.

The female told the officer Jenkins could possibly be located at an address on Mockingbird Street. His vehicle was located, and he was taken into custody.

Jenkins is currently free on a bond of $60,000.
