A Stone County man has been arrested following a domestic dispute August 17 that sent a female victim to the hospital. A felony charge of domestic battery in the second degree has been filed against 42-year-old Christopher A. Jones after law enforcement found a large amount of the victim’s hair on his boots.

According to the probable cause affidavit, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the Sunny Land Community, southwest of Mountain View, to a possible assault in progress. When deputies arrived, they located a female who had been severely beaten, sitting on the front porch of the residence. The victim stated Jones had assaulted her after he was agitated about an earlier altercation he had with another person, and took it out on her. She also told authorities Jones had been drinking. The victim said Jones had choked and stomped on her head with his boots, as well as the rest of her body. The victim was taken to Stone County Medical Center for treatment.

When authorities went into the residence to look for Jones, they found him pretending to be asleep. Officials found large amounts of hair on the bottom of his boots.

Bond is set at $50,000.
