The Mountain Home High School football team opened 6A-West Conference play Friday night with a trip to Greenwood. Brad Haworth has details on the game.
Listen:
It was a rough night for the Bombers as they managed just 138 yards of offense and lost five turnovers in a 49-0 loss. Greenwood scored on their first six possessions to build a 42-0 lead by halftime.
After forcing the Bombers to punt on the game’s opening possession, the Bulldogs got their scoring started on a 14 yard run by Javon Williamson. Quarterback Hunter Houston then took over, completing touchdown passes to Williamson, Grant Karnes and Aiden Kennon. Williamson would add another touchdown run and then freshman quarterback Kane Archer scored on a eight yard scamper before halftime.
In the second half, Archer hooked up with Isaiah Arrington on a nine-yard touchdown pass.
Mountain Home finished the game with 100 rushing yards and 38 through the air. Chris Hubbard led the attack with 46 rushing yards on just three carries.
The loss sends the Bombers to 0-3 on the campaign. They will host Lake Hamilton next week.
The Bulldogs are 2-1 heading into their game at Siloam Springs.
