Tuesday evening at 6 the Baxter County Quorum Court will meet for its regular session meeting in the 2nd floor courtroom of the courthouse.

Agenda items include ordinances appropriating fees and reimbursements from August to the sheriff’s department budget; appropriating funds from county general revenue fund into the juvenile services department budget; re-appropriating funds from ARPA to ARPA revenue replacement fund to pay for the 2021 audit; appropriating funds to purchase property; and confirming the appointments to the Rodney-Jordan Volunteer Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners.

An ordinance appropriating funds in the amount of $10,000 to purchase property along Eighth street between blocks 39 and 40 for parking for the County Jail. Funds for this purchase would come from the special jail fees fund and go to the jail maintenance and operations fund.

After the meeting, a ballot issue education public seminar and discussion will be presented by Brad Runsick from the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension office. This session will help voters explain each issue on the ballot and what a “For” or “Against” vote mean, and what proponents and opponents say about the issues.

If you are unable to attend, voter guides will be available at the Extension Office located at 3 East 9th Street, at the Baxter County Courthouse, and the Baxter County Library after October 1.
