
Three area high school volleyball teams were in action Saturday as district play continues in Missouri.
Bakersfield’s first season came to an end in the semifinals of the Class 1, District 7 Tournament at Eminence. The Lady Lions fell in straight sets as top-seeded Winona posted scores of 25-4, 25-4 and 25-9.
Forsyth is one win away from a state tournament berth following its semifinal match in the Class 3, District 11 Tournament at Hollister. The Lady Panthers needed all five sets, but they were able to get past Reeds Spring with scores of 25-9, 14-25, 17-25, 25-17 and 15-12. Forsyth will face top-seeded Mountain Grove for the district title on Monday.
Branson won its opener in the Class 4, District 6 Tournament at Willard in straight sets. The Lady Pirates defeated the host Lady Tigers 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20. Branson will take on Carl Junction in Monday’s semifinals.
