A new sporting event will be held this week to benefit a program sponsored by the Mountain Home Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 45. The inaugural Shop with a Cop Fishing Derby is scheduled for Friday at Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock.
The entry fee is $150 per boat. The boats will launch from the dock at 7 Friday morning and return at 3 that afternoon for weigh-ins.
Payouts will be guaranteed to the top five teams with the winners receiving $3,000. Additional payouts will be based on participation. In addition, $1,000 will be awarded for the biggest bass.
