Friday basketball results include Cotter winning 2 boys’ games over Haas Hall-Bentonville

Cotter was able to take two boys’ basketball games over Haas Hall-Bentonville on Friday.
The Warriors beat up on the Huskies 80-55 in the senior high game. Ryan Benedict led Cotter with 26 points, Hudson Adams scored 19, and Payton McGee and David Roger added 14 each.
Cotter also took the junior high contest over Haas-Hall Bentonville 41-27. The Junior Warriors were led by Chris Spears with 12 points, and Cole Tilton chipped in 10. Cotter improves to 7-2 on the season.

Flippin High School’s girls were able to pick up an easy win at home. The Lady Bobcats invoked the mercy rule on their way to an 83-21 victory over Ozark Catholic.

Flippin’s boys had a rough night in the Willard Basketball Classic as they fell to Harrison 76-54. Rylin Robins was the Bobcats’ top scorer with 23 points. Flippin drops to 7-7 on the year.
Harrison did not fare as well on the girls’ side at Willard. The Lady Goblins lost to Republic by a final of 61-48.

The Yellville-Summit High School teams ended up sweeping Ozark Mountain at Western Grove. The Lady Panthers topped the Lady Bears 69-61. Yellville-Summit also got past Ozark Mountain 55-50.

Salem’s girls were able to advance to the championship game of the Williams Baptist University High School Tournament with a 58-49 victory over Marmaduke at Walnut Ridge. Marleigh Sellars paced top-seeded Salem with 19 points, and Chelsea Hamilton provided 17.

The Mammoth Spring High School teams had mixed results in Jonesboro as they played on the campus of Ridgefield Christian.
The Bears won the boys’ game over the host Warriors 76-46. Gavin Boddie was Mammoth Spring’s leading scorer with 22 points, and Blake Rogers had 19.
Mammoth Spring’s girls played a neutral site game at Ridgefield Christian and lost to Paragould 49-39. Brynn Washam led the way for the Lady Bears with 19 points.

Marshall’s boys had an easy conference win at the Ray Moore Gymnasium. The Bobcats breezed past Quitman 64-38.

The Mountain View boys finished the week on a tough note. The Yellowjackets went on the road and were edged out by Pangburn 49-46.

Lead Hill had a successful homecoming night as they swept a pair of boys’ games over Oark.
The Tigers destroyed the Hornets 74-34 in the senior high game. Lead Hill was led by Quintin Sewell with 24 points, Augustin Lahaut finished with 12, and Jayce Williams ended up with 11.
Lead Hill also beat Oark 36-11 in the junior high contest. Coda Lemon was the Junior Tigers’ leading scorer with 13 points, and Brett Arnold added 12.

Valley Springs’ girls were able to win their second game in the First Service Bank Battle at the Brier Classic in Greenbrier. The Lady Tigers got past Sheridan 52-48.

The night was not as successful for Valley Springs in boys’ action. The Tigers traveled west and fell to Berryville by a score of 55-44.
