Little Rock Parkview’s football team was able to capture its first state championship since 1978. The Patriots won the Class 5A title game 31-21 over Shiloh Christian Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Eric McGehee completed seven passes out of 12 attempts for Parkview for 144 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and Darien Bennett had 21 carries for 85 yards. For Shiloh Christian, Eli Wisdom was 21-of-38 through the air with 220 yards, a touchdown and an interception; and Bo Williams ran the ball 15 times for 108 yards and two scores.
Both teams end up with a record of 12-2.
