The Mountain Home High School girls’ basketball team’s comeback fell just short Friday night at the Hangar. Heritage came in from Rogers and squeaked by the Lady Bombers 60-58.

The Lady War Eagles led the game from the moment they scored first. On multiple occasions, their advantage went to double digits due in part to multiple second chance points. Heritage outrebounded Mountain Home 30-12 in the contest. The Lady Bombers came back and cut the margin to two inside the final minute and had multiple chances to tie or take the lead, but their shots wouldn’t fall. Carlee Casteel went to the line for a one-and-one for the Lady War Eagles with four seconds left. She missed the front end, but Heritage got the rebound and ran out the clock.

Amelia Rucker led the Lady Bombers with 14 points, Parker Huskey scored 12, and Laykin Moore and Lauren Wehmeyer each added 11. For Heritage, Casteel had 32 points, and Ruthie McCain chipped in 12.

Mountain Home falls to 5-4 on the season.
