
The Mountain Home High School boys’ basketball team had a successful outing in the North Arkansas College Border War Shootout in Harrison. In the third of four games pairing Arkansas schools with Missouri schools, the Bombers beat up on Strafford 67-49.
Both teams struggled early on with the game tied 6-6 at the end of the opening quarter. From there, Mountain Home took over as they outscored the Indians 21-5 in the second period. The Bombers pulled further away as the game continued, eventually invoking the mercy rule before posting the 28-point victory.
Braiden Dewey led Mountain Home with 17 points, and Ky Bickford added 14. No one was in double figures for Strafford.
The Bombers improve to 7-5 on the season. The Indians fall to 4-3.
Both Mountain Home teams will be in Jonesboro on Monday for their last games before Christmas against Nettleton.
Arkansas ended up sweeping Missouri in the Border War Shootout. Valley Springs pounded Purdy 73-43, Harrison topped Thayer 63-56, and the New School routed Chadwick 58-34.
