
The second day of the Ultimate Auto Group Basketball Tournament at Mountain Home concluded with a rough outing for both of the host teams in the semifinals. Matt Sharp has the details.

The Lady Bombers suffered a 52-42 loss to Paragould. It was a game where Mountain Home struggled offensively in its early stages. Despite that, the Lady Bombers tied the game up four different times, but they were never able to take the lead. The Lady Rams jumped out to a double digit advantage in the second half and went on to win by 10.
Parker Huskey led Mountain Home with 18 points, and Amelia Rucker added 13. For Paragould, Hadlee Defries and Kalyn Lamb each scored 11 points, and Shakira Brown chipped in 10.
The Lady Bombers fall to 8-7 on the season. The Lady Rams improve to 10-3.
Mountain Home’s next opponent will be Fair Grove, Missouri. Farmington topped the Lady Eagles 59-42 in the other semifinal.
Flippin’s girls advanced to the consolation final by pulling off a 54-52 upset over Salem. The Lady Bobcats were led by Ella Alexander with 18 points, and Ally Hodges provided 16. Marleigh Sellars had 26 points for the Lady Greyhounds. Flippin is now 10-6 on the year. Salem drops to 11-3.
Clinton will be Flippin’s last opponent in the tournament. The Lady Yellowjackets destroyed Rogers 67-38.
Mountain Home’s boys wrapped up the night by falling to Greene County Tech 56-42. The game was back-and-forth early on with three ties and three lead changes. The Golden Eagles started inching away in the second quarter and led by nine at halftime. While Tech didn’t necessarily dominate the second half, they did pull further away to post the 14-point win.
The Bombers were led by Braiden Dewey with 17 points. Benji Goodman had 18 points for the Golden Eagles, all from behind the arc, Tyler Vincent finished with 13, and Landon Stuart ended up with 12.
Mountain Home drops to 8-7 on the year. Tech remains unbeaten in 16 games.
Mountain Home’s opponent in the third place game will be Paragould. The Rams were thrashed by Farmington 77-43.
Flippin also advanced to the fifth place game on the boys’ side with a 62-49 win over Cave City. Rilyn Rogers was the Bobcats’ leading scorer with 20 points, Corbin Rogers scored 14, and Cody Downs ended up with 11. Flippin’s record is now 11-9.
The Bobcats’ opponent in the consolation final will be Greenwood. The Bulldogs defeated Junction City 67-57.
