
The champions were crowned Monday to wrap up the North Arkansas College Invitational Tournament at the Pioneer Pavilion in Harrison. Norfork’s girls pulled away to defeat Valley Springs 55-30. Walker Patton hit a three-pointer in the corner to beat the buzzer and push the Bergman boys past Clinton 56-54.
Two area boys’ teams played their openers in the Seymour Bank Winter Classic. Bakersfield won a high-scoring game over Bradleyville by a final of 100-74. Dora suffered a 59-40 loss to Eminence.
Ozark Mountain finished with one win in three games at Lead Hill.
The senior boys’ game was the lone win for the Bears as they beat the Tigers 54-26. Gavin Freeman led Ozark Mountain with 16 points, and Mason Gilmore added 12.
Ozark Mountain did not fare as well in the senior girls’ contest. The Lady Bears fell to Lead Hill 44-31.
After being up by 15 at halftime, Ozark Mountain’s junior boys lost to Lead Hill 41-37. The Junior Bears were led by Tate Dixon with 13 points. Brett Arnold scored 16 points for the Junior Tigers, and Coda Lemon chipped in 15.
