Thursday morning, the Mountain Home Police Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 6 to a residence on Cresswell Drive. The caller stated her and her juvenile son fled the scene for their safety.
Upon arrival, they encountered 23-year-old Jonathan Cole Smith barricaded inside the residence until approximately 10:20, when he surrendered to officers.
Smith is being charged with aggravated assault, terrorist threatening, endangering the welfare of a minor, as well as an absconded warrant from Probation and parole. Additional charges may be pending.
The Mountain Home Police Department was assisted by the Arkansas State Police, Adult Probation and Parole, along with the Mountain Home Fire Department and Baxter Health on standby.
