2022 saw the largest year for sales of medical marijuana since the industry launched in 2019. Eligible Arkansans spent $276.3 million to obtain at total of 50,547 pounds amongst the states 38 dispensaries. This surpasses the previous record of $264.9 million in 2021.A monthly breakdown of sales, provided by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, shows Plant Family Therapeutics of Mountain Home having sold 2,242.87 pounds in 2022.

In 2022, state tax collection on medical marijuana reached $32 million 2022. According to Scott Hardin, a spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration states overall more than $753 million has been spent to purchase 123,650 pounds of medical marijuana since 2019. This included $16.3 million from the state’s 6.5% sales tax along with $15.7 million from the 4.0% privilege tax. Both of these taxes apply to all patient purchases. However, only the 4.0% privilege tax applies when a cultivator sells product to a dispensary.
Natural Relief Dispensary in Sherwood had the largest year with 5,029 pounds sold while Suite 443 in Hot Springs followed with 3,724 pounds.
