
High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule, and for Mountain Home, it will be the first home outing of the conference slate. The Bombers and Lady Bombers are set to welcome Van Buren to the Twin Lakes Area.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 10-8 on the season and 1-1 in the 5A-West. The Lady Bombers are coming off a win at Harrison on Tuesday. Van Buren is 9-8 and 1-1. The Lady Pointers got routed by Greenwood this week.
Both of the boys’ teams from Mountain Home and Van Buren and 10-8 overall and 1-1 in the league. The Bombers picked up a five-point victory at Harrison three days ago. The Pointers are coming off an easy win over Greenwood.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 4:45 at Bomber Gymnasium. The varsity contests begin around 6 and will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Also in the 5A-West, Harrison travels to Greenwood, Greenbrier hosts Siloam Springs, and Russellville makes the trip to Alma.
Elsewhere, Cotter heads to Haas Hall-Rogers, Flippin travels to West Fork, Yellville-Summit makes the trip to Greenland, Viola heads to Fox to face Rural Special, Calico Rock travels to Greers Ferry to take on West Side, Gainesville’s boys make the short trip to Dora, Ozark Mountain entertains Life Way Christian at Western Grove, Salem heads to Hoxie, Izard County is home against Marshall, Melbourne hosts Mountain View for homecoming, Lead Hill travels to Alpena, Bergman entertains Valley Springs, Omaha is home against Kingston, and Jasper makes the trip to Oark.
