Friday basketball schedule includes MHHS traveling to Greenwood

High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule as Mountain Home goes back to the road. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will make their longest trip of the conference slate as they go to Greenwood.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 11-9 on the season and 2-2 in the 5A-West. The Lady Bombers are coming off a loss to Russellville on Tuesday. Greenwood is currently ranked No. 1 in Class 5A and fourth overall by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Lady Bulldogs are 17-2 and 4-0 after getting past Siloam Springs on a putback at the buzzer.
The Mountain Home boys are 10-10 overall and 1-3 in the league. The Bombers lost to Russellville by five after leading by 19 early on. Greenwood is 5-13 and 0-4. The Bulldogs were edged out by Siloam Springs on Tuesday.
The junior varsity girls’ game tips off at 4:30 at H.B. Stewart Arena followed by the J.V. boys’ contest. The varsity games will start around 6 on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Also in the 5A-West, Harrison hosts Van Buren, Greenbrier travels to Alma, and Russellville entertains Siloam Springs.

Two area girls’ teams will wrap up pool play in the Nixa Invitational Tournament. Norfork meets Notre Dame from Cape Girardeau at 6, and West Plains faces Park Hills South from Riverside, Missouri, at 7:30.

Bakersfield’s girls will compete for the championship of the Cabool Classic. The Lady Lions take on top-seeded Norwood at 7.

Elsewhere, Mountain Home Christian Academy travels to Mountain Grove Christian, Cotter makes the trip to Centerton to play Life Way Christian, Flippin hosts Valley Springs, Yellville-Summit entertains Eureka Springs, Viola heads to Greers Ferry to face West Side, the Gainesville boys are home against Mountain Grove for homecoming, Ozark Mountain travels to Haas Hall-Rogers, Salem hosts Melbourne, Izard County entertains White County Central for Winter Royalty night, Dora’s boys are home against Seymour, Mammoth Spring makes the trip to Marked Tree, Marshall hosts Mount Vernon-Enola, and Lead Hill entertains Kingston.
