
High school basketball makes up the local Friday schedule, and for Mountain Home, it’s Sweetheart Royalty Night. The Bombers and Lady Bombers continue conference play by welcoming Alma to the Twin Lakes Area.
Mountain Home’s girls are tied for fifth place in the 5A-West with the Lady Airedales. The Lady Bombers are 11-10 on the season and 2-3 in the league after losing at Greenwood a week ago. Alma is 6-11 and 2-3 following their easy win over Greenbrier last Friday.
The Mountain Home boys are 11-10 overall and 2-3 in conference action. The Bombers are coming off a 12-point win at Greenwood. Alma is 4-15 and 1-4. The Airedales suffered a six-point loss to Greenbrier last Friday.
The Sweetheart Royalty court will be presented between the varsity games, and the king and queen will be crowned. In addition, the “Pitch In for Kids” will occur at the first timeout of the boys’ game. Fans will toss out new pairs of kid’s pajamas and socks, and the items will benefit the Foster kids supported by the Call of Baxter County.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5 at Bomber Gymnasium. The varsity contests begin around 6 and will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Also in the 5A-West, Harrison travels to Siloam Springs, Greenbrier makes the trip to Greenwood, and Russellville hosts Van Buren.
Two area boys’ teams will make up their last pool games in the Sparta Trojans Tournament. Gainesville faces Fair Grove at 6, and Ava takes on Greenwood from Springfield.
Elsewhere, Mountain Home Christian Academy entertains Mountain Grove Christian, Cotter is home against Greenland, Flippin heads to Elkins, Yellville-Summit travels to Centerton to play Life Way Christian, Ozark Mountain makes the trip to Eureka Springs, Salem hosts Tuckerman, Izard County heads to South Side-Bee Branch, Melbourne travels to Walnut Ridge, Mountain View entertains Newport for homecoming, Lead Hill makes the trip to Mount Judea, Bergman is home against Green Forest for Senior Night, Valley Springs hosts Guy-Perkins, and Jasper entertains Kingston.
Viola’s games at Concord are rescheduled for Monday, Marshall’s homecoming games against Sloan-Hendrix will be held at a later date, Timbo’s Senior Night games against Shirley are to be rescheduled, and Omaha’s home games against Deer will be played next Friday, Feb. 3.
