
Mountain Home Christian Academy picked up two wins as they hosted another group of Eagles from Mountain Grove Christian on Friday.
The varsity boys’ game ended with Mountain Home Christian getting the 72-67 victory. Jordan Woods reached the 1,000-point milestone after scoring 26 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Kolby Woods had 19 points, and Riley Peglar chipped in 16.
Mountain Home Christian did not fare as well in the varsity girls’ contest as they fell to Mountain Grove Christian 38-28. Caroline Robinson led Mountain Home Christian with 14 points and 12 boards.
The evening began with Mountain Home Christian’s junior boys routing Mountain Grove Christian 53-18. Evan Palella was Mountain Home Christian’s top scorer with 21 points, and Konner Woods provided 15.
Cotter finished with two wins in three home games against Greenland.
In the senior girls’ game, the Lady Warriors got past the Lady Pirates 45-40. Becca Benedict paced Cotter with 14 points, Morgan Zick ended up with 13, and Emma Jones had 10.
Cotter did not fare as well in the senior boys’ contest. The Warriors were edged out by Greenland 36-33.
Cotter’s junior girls put the mercy rule in effect as they beat up on Greenland 50-20. The Junior Lady Warriors were led by Gracyn Jackson with 14 points, Shawna Foster scored 11, and Myah McNutt added 10.
The Yellville-Summit High School teams ended up splitting with Life Way Christian at Centerton. The Panthers breezed past the Warriors 71-51 in the boys’ game. Yellville-Summit did not fare as well in the girls’ contest as they lost to Life Way Christian 75-67.
Two area boys’ teams suffered losses to finish pool play in the Sparta Trojans Tournament. Gainesville fell to Fair Grove 56-40, and Ava lost 60-41 to Greenwood from Springfield.
Ozark Mountain was able to go on the road and sweep its high school games at Eureka Springs. The Lady Bears picked up an easy 56-35 win over the Lady Highlanders. Ozark Mountain’s boys also topped Eureka Springs 44-39.
The Salem High School teams had mixed results as they hosted Tuckerman. The Lady Greyhounds, currently tied for second in Class 3A by the Arkansas Sports Media, squeaked by the Lady Bulldogs 51-48. The boys’ game had a different result as Salem fell to Tuckerman 48-38.
The Izard County High School teams ended up getting swept at South Side-Bee Branch. The Lady Cougars lost to the Lady Hornets 54-49. Izard County’s boys later fell to South Side 75-67.
Melbourne was able to sweep its high school games at Walnut Ridge. The Lady Bearkatz pounded the Lady Bobcats 65-36. Melbourne also took the boys’ game over Walnut Ridge 54-42.
Friday was a successful homecoming night for Mountain View’s boys. The Yellowjackets defeated Newport by a final of 75-62.
The Valley Springs High School teams had two easy wins at home over Guy-Perkins. The Lady Tigers destroyed the Lady Thunderbirds 79-24. Valley Springs’ boys also beat up on Guy-Perkins 81-52.
Jasper had mixed results as they hosted Kingston. The Pirates won the boys’ game over the Yellowjackets 63-55. Jasper’s girls fell to Kingston 52-46.
