
The roadways in the Twin Lakes Area are well-covered following the recent rounds of winter weather, and more may be on the way.
Mountain Home Street Director Arnold Knox says the city continues to have ice-covered streets.

The roads throughout Baxter, Marion and Ozark counties also remain well-covered. Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says the main highways are mostly covered and “iffy at best,” and the county roads are very slick. A Marion County Sheriff’s dispatch spokesperson says they have heard reports of treacherous conditions on Arkansas Highway 14, both north and south of Yellville and Summit.
IDriveArkansas.com currently shows most of the area’s main highways with ice on them. U.S. Highway 65 from St. Joe to the Searcy/Van Buren county line and Arkansas Highway 7 throughout Newton County are reportedly slushy.
The Missouri Department of Transportation’s traveler information map shows Missouri Highway 5 is partly covered from the state line to Wasola and fully covered further north. U.S. Highway 160 is partly covered from Gainesville to just west of the Ozark/Howell county line. Most other highways are fully covered, and a portion of Missouri Highway 181 is closed in northeastern Douglas County.
