Friday basketball schedule includes MHHS at Van Buren

High school basketball dominates the local Friday schedule as both of Mountain Home’s teams will be back on the road. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will be near the Arkansas/Oklahoma line for an outing with Van Buren.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 14-11 on the season and 5-4 in the 5A-West after beating Greenbrier on Wednesday. Van Buren fell to 12-12 and 4-5 on Tuesday after getting thumped by Greenwood. The Lady Bombers beat the Lady Pointers 47-26 in the previous meeting on Jan. 13.
The Mountain Home boys are 13-12 overall and 4-5 in the league after getting edged out by Greenbrier two nights ago. Van Buren is 14-11 and 5-4 as they come off a two-point win over Greenwood. The Bombers fell to the Pointers 74-49 nearly a month ago.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 4:15 at Clair Bates Arena. The varsity contests begin around 6 and will be broadcast on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube.
Also in the 5A-West, Harrison hosts Greenwood, Greenbrier travels to Siloam Springs, and Russellville entertains Alma.

Elsewhere, Cotter makes the trip to Lead Hill, Flippin heads to Bergman, Yellville-Summit’s boys are home against Haas Hall-Rogers, Viola travels to Lynn to face Hillcrest, Bakersfield hosts Couch for homecoming, the Gainesville girls entertain Koshkonong, Gainesville’s boys are home against Mansfield, Ozark Mountain makes the trip to Jasper, Dora hosts Summersville, Mammoth Spring’s boys head to Greers Ferry to meet West Side, the Mammoth Spring girls travel to Lake City to take on Riverside, Melbourne entertains Hoxie, Marshall is home against Sloan-Hendrix for homecoming, Timbo hosts Shirley for Senior Night, Valley Springs makes the trip to Green Forest, and Omaha entertains Deer for Senior Night.
