Friday basketball schedule includes MHHS hosting Greenwood

High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule and includes the start of a two-game home stand for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers are set to welcome Greenwood to the Twin Lakes Area.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 15-12 on season and 6-5 in the 5A-West after falling at Russellville on Tuesday. Greenwood, currently ranked first in Class 5A and second overall by the Arkansas Sports Media, improved to 24-2 and 11-0 by destroying Siloam Springs. The Lady Bombers lost to the Lady Bulldogs 78-34 on Jan. 20.
The Mountain Home boys are 14-13 overall and 5-6 in the league after topping Russellville three nights ago. Greenwood is 6-19 and 1-10 as they come off a loss to Siloam Springs. The Bombers defeated the Bulldogs 63-51 nearly a month ago.
The junior varsity girls’ game tips off at 4 at Bomber Gymnasium followed by the J.V. boys. The varsity contests begin around 6 and will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Also in the 5A-West, Harrison travels to Van Buren, Greenbrier hosts Alma, and Russellville makes the trip to Siloam Springs.

The semifinals of the 3A-1 District Tournament will be held at West Fork. Bergman has a doubleheader with Elkins starting with the girls at 4, Flippin’s girls face Valley Springs at 7, and the Valley Springs boys take on West Fork at 8:30.

Two area teams will compete for the championship of the 2A-1 District Tournament at Eureka Springs. Yellville-Summit’s girls tip off at 6 against Life Way Christian, and the Ozark Mountain boys play Greenland at 7:30.

The 3A-2 District Tournament will hold its semifinal round at Cave City. On the girls’ side, Salem and Tuckerman tip off at 4, and Melbourne will be paired with Mountain View at 7. In the boys’ games, Mountain View faces Tuckerman at 5:30, and Melbourne takes on Newport.

Both of Mammoth Spring’s teams will be on their home floor as they play Maynard in the title games of the 1A-3 District Tournament. The girls’ game tips off at 6 followed by the boys’ contest.

The finals of the 1A-1 East District Tournament will be held at Mount Judea. The Jasper girls will be matched up with Alpena at 6, and the boys’ contest between Lead Hill and Omaha is set for 7:30.
