High school basketball makes up much of the local Saturday schedule as eight area teams are one win away from playing for a state title.
Three area girls’ teams will compete in the semifinals of the Class 1A State Tournament at Ozark. Mammoth Spring meets Wonderview at noon, and Norfork faces Rural Special at 6.
Three area teams will take part in the semifinals of the Class 3A State Tournament at Lamar. On the girls’ side, Bergman tips off at noon against the host Lady Warriors, and Salem takes on Glen Rose at 6. Bergman’s boys play Rivercrest at 7:30.
The Marshall boys will be in the semifinals of the Class 2A State Tournament at Rector. The Bobcats will be paired with Earle at 7:30.
Harrison’s boys will compete in the semifinals of the Class 5A State Tournament at Pine Bluff. The Goblins meet Lake Hamilton at 7:30.
In Missouri, two area girls’ teams will square off in the semifinals of the Class 5, District 6 Tournament at Marshfield. Top-seeded West Plains faces Branson at 1.
The Ava girls are one win away from a state tournament bid. The top-seeded Lady Bears take on Logan-Rogersville in the championship game of the Class 4, District 11 Tournament at Mountain Grove. Tip-off is scheduled for 3.
