A Fulton County man has been arrested for threatening to kill a friend with a bomb. Law enforcement arrested 27-year-old Tristan Jedediah Huber over the weekend at his house in Viola.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says his department learned Friday that Huber had made a threat against a Baxter County resident. The sheriff says very explicit and detailed text messages were provided to his department indicating Huber was seeking to kill the victim and was soliciting another person to help with his plan.

Law enforcement in Fulton County received similar information, including the fact Huber was making a bomb to injure the victim.

Fulton County deputies arrested Huber at his residence where they found what was believed to be a homemade explosive device. The Arkansas State Police Bomb Squad responded and determined the device was not operational, but they did observe components that could be used to make an operational bomb.

Huber is charged with felony counts of solicitation to commit murder and terroristic threatening in the first degree and a misdemeanor charge of threatening fire or bombing. He is also being held on charges of theft of property and criminal mischief from outstanding warrants.

Huber is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on bonds totaling $110,000.
