The West Plains High School girls’ basketball team will be going back to the state tournament. The Lady Zizzers went to Marshfield on Tuesday for the championship game of the Class 5, District 6 Tournament and defeated Rolla 53-40. West Plains improves to 22-7 on the season, and they’ll be on the campus of Southwest Baptist University at Bolivar on Saturday to meet Jefferson City in the quarterfinals of the Class 5 State Tournament.
Ava’s girls won their opener in the Class 4 State Tournament on Tuesday. The Lady Bears went to the Missouri S&T campus at Rolla and defeated Aurora 37-28 in the sectional round. Ava is now 25-4, and they’ll also be at Bolivar on Saturday to meet Southern Boone in the quarterfinals.
