
Mountain Home hosted its first of two junior high track meets on Tuesday, and several area athletes were able to shine at Bomber Stadium.
For the Junior Bomber boys, Garrett Barr won the 800-meter run, Trenton Smith won the 1600-meter run, Kaleb Daniel won the pole vault, Barrett Miller won the 100-meter dash and finished third in the 200-meter dash, Nathan Yarborough won the discus and was fourth in the shot put, Leo Grubbs ended up second in the high jump and triple jump, William Taylor took second place in the 1600-meter run, Dayton Davis finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 110-meter hurdles, Connor Schulz was third in the 100-meter dash, Isaac Ballard ended up third in the high jump, Easton Recktenwald took third place in the discus, Caiden Kaspar finished fourth in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, Mason Griffin was fourth in the long jump, and Brayden Henn ended up fifth in the triple jump. In addition, the team of Miller, Ballard, Caden Del Soto and Schulz won the 4×100-meter relay; Smith, Barr, Miller and Davis won the 4×400-meter relay; Barr, Levi Payne, Kaspar and Smith won the 4×800-meter relay; and Davis, Kaden West, Benjamin Clark and Russell Hargett took second place in the 4×200-meter relay.
Other area athletes getting wins include Harrison’s Lucas Brumley in the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump and Harrison’s Brody Weeks in the shot put.
For Mountain Home’s girls, Cisily Goettler won the 1600-meter run, Olivia McCoy won the pole vault, Pixie Bolick won the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles and finished fourth in the 200-meter dash, Camilla Johnson was second in the 200-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles, Mackenna Medley ended up second in the shot put and fifth in the discus, Lucy Koehn took third place in the 1600-meter run, Caylee Simmons finished third in the pole vault, Lorelai Green was third in the long jump, Kori Scroggins ended up third in the discus and fifth in the shot put, Jamie Chandler took fourth place in the 800-meter run, Jurzie Guiltner finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, and Izzy Koehler was fourth in the pole vault. Also, the team of Johnson, McCoy, Guiltner and Green won the 4×100-meter relay; Johnson, Bolick, Haylee Edwards and Sienna Reed won the 4×200-meter relay; Chandler, Simmons, Goettler and Koehn won the 4×800-meter relay; and Reed, Koehn, Chandler and Goettler ended up third in the 4×400-meter relay.
Other victories among area athletes were from Jacey Halitzka in the 800-meter run, the triple jump and the shot put; Kinsley See of Bergman in the high jump; Brooklyn Mitchell of Harrison in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes; Alyssa Montgomery of Harrison in the 100-meter dash; and Bergman’s See, Adeline Malotte, Kenzye Lowry and Halitzka in the 4×400-meter relay.
