
The Mountain Home High School soccer teams had mixed results as they began 5A-West action Friday at Siloam Springs.
In the varsity boys’ match, the Bombers were able to get past the Panthers 2-1 with both of their goals coming in the second half. The first was scored by William Bevel off a corner kick from Alvaro Salas, and Salas was credited with the second goal. Odei Alcalde recorded six saves, and Aidan Sander finished with two saves.
Mountain Home did not fare as well in the girls’ match as they fell to Siloam Springs 8-0. The Lady Bombers drop to 4-2 on the season and 0-1 in the league.
The evening began with Mountain Home’s junior varsity boys playing to a 1-1 tie with Siloam Springs. Garrett Barr scored the lone goal for the J.V. Bombers, and Jacob Taylor recorded six saves.
