A battle between two baseball teams in the Arkansas State University system occurred Monday night in Arkadelphia. ASU-Mountain Home was able to beat Henderson State’s junior varsity squad 3-1.
It was a pitching duel between freshman Brayden Carmichael of the Trailblazers and junior Ethan Perry of the Reddies. Carmichael went eight innings, struck out eight batters and gave up one run.
Breck Burris broke it open and sealed the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly for ASU-Mountain Home after pinch hitter Jackson Down reached first on a hit-by-pitch, and Grayson Gilmore stole second and advanced to third on a passed ball.
