MHHS baseball team to host Gentry, softball team in tourney at Harrison

Baseball and softball make up much of the local Friday schedule.

The Mountain Home High School baseball team will return to McClain Park as they meet Gentry. The varsity game begins at 4:30 at Pitts Field followed by the junior varsity contest.

Elsewhere on the high school level, Cotter hosts Marshall, Bakersfield travels to Seymour, Gainesville entertains Cabool, Salem is home against Mountain View, Izard County makes the trip to Ash Flat to meet Highland, Dora begins action in the Van Buren Shootout, Melbourne hosts Hoxie, Bergman entertains Valley Springs for a doubleheader, and Harrison will be the site for the Ozark Baseball Classic.

In junior high baseball, Flippin is home against Viola and Mammoth Spring.

Mountain Home and Harrison will both compete in the Ozark Softball Classic at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. The Lady Goblins face Warsaw, Missouri, at 5:30 at Ramsey Field, and the Lady Bombers take on Rogers Heritage at 7:15 at Cornerstone Field.

Gainesville’s softball team will be in Mansfield for the start of the Summit Conference Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs’ opening opponent will be the host Lady Lions.

Melbourne will be at the Southside Softball Complex in Jonesboro for its opener in the Bearcat Blast hosted by Brookland. The Lady Bearkatz will play Southside Batesville at 7:30.
