The body of a female swept away from a low-water crossing in southern Missouri has been located. According to KYTV/KSPR, Webster County Sheriff Roye Cole says her body was found early Saturday evening, around 4 miles downstream from where her vehicle was swept away.

KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News recently spoke with Mountain Home resident Teresa Chairs after she and her daughters came upon a vehicle Thursday night at the Finley Creek crossing, south of Fordland on Missouri Route Z. When the vehicle was swept away, they attempted to rescue its occupants. Two of the occupants were able to make it to shore, but a woman was stranded on the vehicle.

Crews searched for the missing woman for several hours until a body was found around 5:30 Saturday evening. Sheriff Cole says he and a few volunteers pulled her remains out of the water and waited for the coroner. Her remains have been positively identified as the missing woman, and her family has been notified.
