Tuesday results include MHHS baseball pitchers combining for no-hitter

The Mountain Home High School baseball team had a good day as they swept a varsity doubleheader at Harrison. The opener saw Jacob Czanstkowski and Ian Ellison combine for a no-hitter as the Bombers blanked the Goblins 5-0. Mountain Home also took the late game 14-4.

Elsewhere, Izard County was edged out by Cedar Ridge 5-4. The Cougars were led by Gavin Stephens with two hits and an RBI. Casen Black went five innings on the mound, struck out eight batters and gave up four hits and four earned runs; and Noah Mosley pitched two innings with three strikeouts, one hit and one unearned run.

In other baseball action, Cotter defeated Yellville-Summit 10-1, Flippin topped Omaha 19-2, Marshall lost a doubleheader to Greenland 16-1 and 19-0, Mountain View fell to Walnut Ridge 10-1, and Lead Hill swept Deer 11-1 and 21-6.

Mountain Home’s softball team ended up getting swept by Harrison in their conference doubleheader.
The Lady Bombers lost the opener 3-1 to the Lady Goblins. Emma Crabb ended up with five strikeouts in the circle, and Kiley Horne and Katie Camp each went 1-for-3 at the plate.
The evening concluded with Mountain Home losing the second game to Harrison 5-0. Daelyn Harper was 1-for-2 in the contest, and Laken Anderson went 1-for-3.
The Lady Bombers fall to 6-3 on the season and 2-2 in the 5A-West.

Makensie Yancey hit a walk-off two-run home run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to Izard County past Cedar Ridge 4-2. The Lady Cougars had trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the seventh, but Quinn Johnson had tied the game for the Lady Cougars with a two-run triple just prior to Yancey’s home run. Megan McBride threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and two unearned runs. Quinn Johnson and Yancey led the Lady Cougars with two hits and two RBIs eacj, and Hollie Johnson added a hit. Izard County improves to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in the 2A-2.

Elsewhere, Cotter beat Yellville-Summit 13-1, Viola was doubled up by Calico Rock 4-2, Salem routed Hoxie 11-3, Mammoth Spring destroyed Marked Tree 26-3, Melbourne defeated Valley Springs 13-1, Marshall lost its doubleheader to Greenland 5-3 and 20-9, Omaha fell to Green Forest 15-2, and Jasper lost to Hector 16-5.
