Marion Co. woman arrested for stabbing husband

A Marion County woman has been arrested, and released, after attempting to shoot her husband and allegedly stabbing him three times. According to the probable cause affidavit, an official from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of a physical domestic occurring along Highway 125 on February 25.

Upon arrival, it was determined 77-year-old Phyllis Linquist allegedly pointed a gun at her husband, and when it failed to fire, began grabbing kitchen knives and stabbed him.

The victim suffered wounds on his right wrist, left elbow and a 3/4 inch puncture wound below his left pectoral.

Authorities noted a small pistol was laying on the floor approximately six feet from Linquist and the victim, and three knives were found in various places around the residence.

Linquist was charged with felony counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member and second degree domestic battering.

She has been released on a $15,000 bond.
