
The Mountain Home High School boys’ soccer team was able to capture its second tournament title of the season on Saturday. The Bombers won the Nova Joe’s Southside Invitational Tournament at Southside Batesville.
Mountain Home began the day with a 3-0 win over Jonesboro Westside. William Bevel led the Bombers with a goal and two assists, Sergi Carmona scored a goal and dished out an assist, Kelso Haught added a goal, Alvaro Salas had two assists, Isaiah Kemp ended up with an assist, and Aidan Sanders recorded one save.
Mountain Home later doubled up Batesville 2-1. Jack Sheaner scored both of the Bombers’ goals with one coming on a penalty kick. Haught and Sanders each dished out an assist, and Odei Alcalde recorded one save.
Mountain Home advanced to the championship match and shut out Nettleton 4-0. The Bombers were led by Salas with two goals; Haught scored a goal and dished out an assist; Isaac Wiggins chipped in a goal; Sanders had two assists; Bevel, Carmona and Jacob Bzdel each added an assist; and Alcalde had one save.
Bevel was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Salas, Sheaner, Haught and Kemp all made the All-Tournament team.
Mountain Home will travel to Greenbrier on Tuesday.
